Frequently Asked Questions
To adopt an action plan:
- Navigate to "Action Plans" in the main menu
- Click on "View Action Plans" to browse available plans
- Find an action plan that interests you and click on it
- Click the "Adopt Plan" button to adopt it with default settings
- Once adopted, the plan will be added to your calendar
Once adopted, you'll receive notifications based on the action plan schedule and can track your progress.
To customize an action plan:
- When viewing an action plan, click the "Customize" button instead of "Adopt"
- Follow the 3-step customization process:
- Step 1: Set the start date and time
- Step 2: Customize the recurrence frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)
- Step 3: Choose notification methods and privacy settings
- Click "Adopt" to finalize your customized plan
Installing ActionTaker as an app on your home screen gives you additional features like in-app notifications and badges:
On iOS (Safari):
- Visit ActionTaker in Safari
- Login
- Tap the Share icon (square with up arrow)
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
- Tap "Add" in the top right corner
On Android (Chrome):
- Visit ActionTaker in Chrome
- Login
- Tap the three dots menu in the upper right
- Select "Add to Home screen" or "Install App"
- Tap "Add" to confirm
On Samsung:
- Visit ActionTaker is your browser
- Login
- Tap "Add page to"
- Select "Home screen"
To add a custom event to your calendar:
- Navigate to "Calendar" in the main menu
- Select "Add Event"
- Fill in the event details:
- Title and description
- Start date and time
- Recurrence pattern
- Notification settings
- Click "Save" to add the event to your calendar
To enable banner notifications:
- First, install ActionTaker as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on your device
- Navigate to "Settings" in the main menu
- Select "Notifications"
- Click the "Enable Mobile Notifications" button
- When prompted, select "Allow"
Note: In-App notifications only work when you've installed ActionTaker as a PWA (Progressive Web App) on your device. Banner notifications will appear even when the app is in the background.
App badges show the number of pending notifications on your app icon. To enable badges:
- First, install ActionTaker as a PWA (Progressive Web App)
- Navigate to "Settings" in the main menu
- Select "Notifications"
- Click the "Enable Mobile Notifications" button
- Badges will automatically appear on the app icon when you have unread notifications
Note: App badges require that you've installed ActionTaker as a PWA and enabled push notifications. Badge support may vary by device and operating system.
Yes! Currently, you'll need to submit your action plans to shawn@actiontaker.com for review and publishing.
Eventually, we will open up access so you can create and publish action plans directly in the app.
To create a team:
- Navigate to "Teams" in the main menu
- Select "Create Team"
- Enter a team name, description, and optional profile picture
- Set team privacy settings (public or private)
- Click "Create Team"
To follow a creator:
- Click on the username of the user you'd like to follow
- Once on their profile page, click the "Follow" button
